The Fisherman’s Wharf in Macau looks more like a huge complex than a resort hotel from the outside. Deemed as the very first theme park in the city of Macau, the Wharf has a collection of buildings and structures that make up the entire complex and are meant to represent places all around the world. A wide selection of restaurants, shops and bars can be seen all around the theme park and resort and-of course this has to be here when in Macau-a casino.

Guests of the Fisherman’s Wharf are in for a themed experience reminiscent of the Las Vegas Strip in the U.S. This H.K. 1.9 Billion project offers a night of explosions with its 40-meter high volcano, daily jet-ski stunt shows and endless shopping and eating escapades. There are over 150 stores and restaurants built in the style of different seaports around the world such as Cape Town, Venice and Amsterdam. The complex is also home to 6 different rides that are very much enjoyed by the kids.

The rise in tourism of Macau may be due to its abundance in casinos, but the city has not seen anything quite like the Fisherman’s Wharf in Macau to date. The second themed wharf is East Meet West where a 40-meter tall man-made volcano complete with waterfalls and simulations of volcanic eruptions can be seen. By nighttime, laser shows come to life as people line up to try the thrilling Indian Jones ride. The African Fort, which is also part of the East Meet West division, has playgrounds for both teenagers and kids. The Greek Square then serves as a leisure park with a performance area, banquet facilities and an ice-skating rink. Finally, the Legend Wharf features a leaning Tower of Pisa replica, 18th Century French inns, a Portuguese restaurant from the 16th Century, a galleon museum, a disco club, a high tech gaming center and a pool area filled with dolphins.

The Wharf also houses a large marina that holds about 20 private yachts. One of the reasons why the Fisherman’s Wharf is fast becoming one of Macau’s most popular tourist destinations is because entrance is free, which is reason enough for people to want to come back again and again. Visitors will instantly feel like being transported to a whole new world in a matter of seconds.
